West Virginia 2013

  1. This is a wonderful collection and most instructive for the folks with open minds. I note (and in the most positive way that Elliot’s photographs “pop” and without atomic bomb magnitude saturation and contrast settings. I find this much more pleasing than the supersaturated photos that appear for example, in “Country” Magazine. I also note that Sensei Stern illustrates for us that it is perfectly OK to have the horizon near the vertical center in a properly composed landscape. I know it when I see it; and I hope Elliot will take this pat on the back to try and tell us in words how he knows when this is the case. I for one get very frustrated with the physical gymnastics required to follow some compositional rule that “they” impose on us.
